Not Just What You See: The Role of a Drywell in Site Success

Green Earth Commercial Contracting is making strong headway on the Edgewood Service Facility. This commercial operations hub will feature warehouse space, service bays, and administrative offices tailored to support our client’s expanding logistics and service needs. While much of the work rises above ground, some of the most critical features are installed where most won’t ever see them: underground. One such feature is a carefully integrated drywell system that manages condensate drainage from the facility’s air handler.

So, what’s a drywell—and why does it matter?
A drywell is a vertical underground chamber that allows water to percolate safely into the soil. In this case, it collects condensation from the HVAC system and routes it underground, helping to prevent surface runoff, erosion, and water pooling around the foundation.

By executing this element of the architect’s design with precision and care, we’re protecting the integrity of the site and delivering long-term value through:

✔️ Structural protection from water-related damage
✔️ Reduced erosion and maintenance costs
✔️ A cleaner, more stable site environment

It’s a great example of how even the hidden parts of a project contribute to its success. And the way we prepare a site today says everything about the trust we’re building for tomorrow.

At Green Earth, every detail matters—because we’re not just building facilities. We’re Building Meaningful Relationships. That’s the promise behind #BMR.
