16 Apr Five Years of Growth, Grit, and Building Meaningful Relationships
This month, Green Earth Commercial Contractors proudly celebrates its five-year anniversary—a milestone that reflects our growth and achievements and, more importantly, the meaningful relationships we’ve built along the way.
Our mission has been clear from the beginning: Relationships are our most important KPI. Guided by this principle and our core belief that your success is our success, we’ve grown far beyond contracts. Under the banner of #BMR—Building Meaningful Relationships—we’ve fostered enduring partnerships, collaborated with amazing teams, and worked on hundreds of projects that have truly stood the test of time.
In 2024 alone, we partnered with 294 vendors, operated in 14 states, and managed over 50 active projects. Our work has spanned the country, from Florida to Oregon. But beyond the numbers lies the real story—one of trust, teamwork, and community.
Rick Wilson, Green Earth President, reflects:
“The last 5 years, has it been that long already? What started as a simple lunch meeting and a request to build out a few projects in Florida turned into something much more special. At the end of the day, relationships shape our families, work, and lives. If we are Building Meaningful Relationships, #BMR, in our homes, why not practice that at work for 8 hours a day and with everyone you meet? We have been fortunate to do just that: serve clients and build friendships across the United States. Our work has taken us from Key West, FL, to Seattle, Washington, and everywhere in between. We are thankful for our dedicated Green Earth Team, our friends and clients, and the opportunity to serve both while growing Green Earth into the future!”
Mike Akerson, Green Earth Vice President, shares:
“It’s been quite an awesome adventure expanding and serving clients in all these states! I never thought I would go fly fishing on the White River in Arkansas after visiting a site in Yellville, AR! Or have to beg for a ride from a stranger at 230am in a small town with no Ubers or rental cars—4 hours of sleep, a meeting at 7 am, and then straight back to the airport. Great challenges, great people, and great opportunities to make a positive difference in communities all over the US!”
The sacrifices and adventures that Rick and Mike have shared only highlight our team’s unwavering determination to deliver the best to our clients, never cutting corners, always going the extra mile. That commitment is something we actively pass down to our entire team.
Over these five years, that team has significantly grown. We’ve prioritized training, wellness, and togetherness—always remembering that a strong company is built not just on projects, but on people.
We invest deeply in our employees, training them in multiple facets of the business, not just reading plans or following safety programs. We promote ongoing education, community involvement, and the mindset of making a positive impact everywhere you go.
This culture, paired with key differentiators—hands-on ownership, a proven process to manage schedule, scope, and budget, and frequent communication—sets us apart. Our competitive general conditions, versatility across asset classes and project types, and strong development insight enable us to guide clients through every step of the construction journey: from concept testing, land use, and entitlements to budgeting, design, and construction, always with long-term operational costs in mind.
Thank you to our clients, partners, vendors, and teammates. Here’s to five years of #BMR and many more ahead!
